    The library has a collection of books on families, county histories, immigration, etc. This collection also includes microfilm and CD-Rom.

    The library has an extensive collection of fiction and non-fiction Texas history.

    Current periodicals are displayed on special shelves. These can be read only in the library. Back issues of up to four years may be checked out. We also have back issues of the local newspaper. Please ask a librarian for assistance.

    Microfilm is available for use in the library. The library has a microfilm reader and reader/printer. Microfilm may also be rented or borrowed from other libraries.

  • File PDF document Arnold Smith Collection

    More than 2,400 Native American artifacts collected by Giddings resident, Arnold Smith, are on display at the Giddings Public Library and Cultural Center. The exhibit is the largest permanent public display of Native American artifacts in the state.

    Baseball history is on display with a collection of baseball memorabilia honoring one of Giddings' most notable "Hometown Heroes," Hilton Lee Smith. A member of the Baseball hall of Fame, Hilton Smith was born in Giddings and went on to fame in the Negro Leagues teaming with the likes of the great Satchel Paige.
