Monday, April 6: Flooding was found in various areas of the library. The cause was determined to be a broken pipe that dumped 500 gallons of water into the library. Several areas within the library were affected. Initially, we expected a week-long closure.
Week of April 6: During clean-up, asbestos was found beneath the old carpet. The asbestos needed to be abated, and the insurance company determined that all carpet in the main library area needed replacing. Expected closure time: three months.Â
